Our Esteemed Speakers and Delegates from our latest conference.
On the 24th & 25th April 2014, Asia iKnowledge hosted the international Asia Green Port Conference at the Royale Chulan Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. This industry-driven event featured speakers from Taiwan, India, Netherlands and Malaysia. Topics covered include new green port governance, best practices for port sustainability and also regional updates on how the Asian port industry has grown to adapt to the growing needs of the shipping industry. Insights from our European speakers gave a clearer picture on how green eco-port standards could be standardized, implemented and monitored.
The conference was a successful gathering of many passionate port management experts, all of which realized the importance on how the port environment was a great factor in affecting the lives of those living around the port facility. There was also extensive discussion on providing better port reception facilities, and discussions on how a greener, cleaner and sustainable environment would provide both the ports, ship-owners and the surrounding locales with a 'Win-Win' scenario. Our honoured participants also got into the exciting discussion, asking a variety of practical questions, especially how they can convert what they had been presented, to their day-to-day operations back at the office. Thank you all for making this a truly meaningful port conference!
